We’ve added a new page to the website that I think everyone can have a part of. It’s called “The List”. Check it out.

There is a new button at the top of the site called “Gladiator Games“. This page is an explanation of what Wednesday nights are going to be like and what all is involved. Check it out and if you have any more questions that the page didn’t answer for you, post it on the boards and I’ll do my best to answer it.

5 commentsWe’re back and PLUG IN is on!

We’re back from the Bahamas and ready to get going! Come on out this Wednesday at 6:45pm. We’re gonna finish up the book of James and talk about what’s next for Wednesday nights!
Snorkeling and Door-to-Door Outreach
Yesterday we broke up into 2 groups. Brian Vaudrin and myself took one group, and John Stahl and Ben Adams took the other.Â
My group went snorkeling off the coast of Paradise Island! We had a great time swimming around and admiring God’s creation. Words can’t describe what you see. There were coral reefs and tons of different kinds of fish that were the most amazing colors and shapes.Â
John’s group went out to do some more door-to-door ministry near the same area we were at yesterday. It was another low class area. God’s spirit was with them though and they saw more people come to Christ and planted many more seeds. Once again, they invited everyone to a park for a service at 7:00pm.Â
We all got back together for lunch, then we split up again. My group had free time to go shopping at the local Straw Market and other stores. John’s group went to see another fort and the Queen’s Staircase, which are two more historical locations on the island.Â
After dinner, we all headed out to the park. Just like last night, we played basketball and other games with the people that came out. Our students performed another drama, and Pastor Rick spoke. God moved once again and we saw 4 more souls gain heaven as their home!
Today our groups will switch rolls. John’s group will go snorkeling and shopping, my group will do ministry and sight seeing.
Â
I’m sorry to say, that this will be my last blog entry from the Bahamas. I’m posting this on Friday morning the 8th and we are heading back to the States tomorrow morning. I know I won’t be able to make the walk to McDonald’s and have time to write anything else before we leave. Not to mention upload any more photos then I already did today (Click here). It takes forever to do it!
Thank you all so much for the encouraging comments you have left. I’ve tried to pass along as many as I could. Thank you most importantly for your prayers during this week. We have certainly felt them.
Be sure to be at ABT next Sunday morning August 17. John Stahl will be speaking and the service will be all about our trip. You won’t want to miss it!
Its been an amazing (and crazy) week and I know we have all been changed because of it. We’ve seen God moment, after God moment, after God moment. I pray that those God moments continue when we get home.
3 commentsPark ministry last night
Last night we showed up at the park were about 60 Bahamians were waiting on us. This park was a lot more run down then the park we went to yesterday. A lot of trash and broken glass everywhere. We made the most of it though.Â
We got a few basketball games going, played on the swings and the jungle gyms with the kids and hit a volleyball around. After about an hour of playing, Pastor Rick called everyone over to the bleachers. Our drama team performed, and then Pastor John Stahl presented the gospel. By the end of the evening another 11 people accepted Christ as savior!Â
When we got back to the hotel, we walked across the street and sat on the beach to have our nightly reflection time. We shared stories from the day and celebrated what God had done.
Today a group of us will go snorkeling, while the other group goes with Rick to do more ministry work. On Friday, the groups will switch.
I added some photos to the “Bahamas – Aug.6″ album on the photos page from our evening in the park. Click here to check them out.
More later. Stay tuned…
1 commentThe outreach continues…
After another morning of devotions by the pool, we packed up and headed out for some more door-to-door evangelism. This time we went to a lower class part of town, that is actually in the neighborhood of the church we attended on Sunday, Freedom Baptist Church. We split up and went out to share the gospel and invite them back to the park tonight. God gave us a lot of divine appointments and we saw 21 people accept Christ before lunch!
At around 12:15pm we all met back at the church for some hamburgs and fries for lunch. After lunch we headed back out for another hour. This time into an even lower class area. It was nearly poverty, but looked more like the ghetto. We made more contacts, planted more seeds and invited people to the park for the evening service.Â
Hopefully this evening God will give us favor with the people and we can see more people join the Kingdom. Please pray that God will show up in a big way tonight.
More photos here. More blogging later.
4 commentsMore ministry and the Atlantis
A quick “health” update – John Stahl is feeling much better and is back to his normal, wired self. Ed and Jenean are back and Ed will be going to his doctor this week.Â
This morning we had devotions at the pool, then we went out to another middle class area near the park to do some more door-to-door outreach. We had a few more salvations to report and a lot of seeds planted. We invited the people to the same park that we tried to have a service at last night.
After lunch, we walked to the pier where we jumped on a boat to Paradise Island. It was about a 15 minute boat ride, but what a difference that can make. That island is a night and day difference from our island. Very “Americanized”. Starbucks and everything! It almost felt like we were just in Florida at a resort. We went to the Atlantis resort and looked around for an hour or so. What an amazing place! The aquarium was awesome. There was a Manta Ray in there that had to be 12 to 15 feet wide. It was huge!Â
But it wasn’t as big as the 2 that swam up to some of us at the beach yesterday! I’ll let Katy Knight, Kelly Maxon and Ben and Lorie Adams tell that story! Lets just say they came a little to close for comfort.
We ate dinner, then got on our buses to go to the park. This time the rain held off. When we pulled into the park there were probably 70 to 80 Bahamians waiting for us! Kids, teenagers and adults. A lot of them were the people we invited this morning.Â
Also, Joe Orlando is back with us. He flew with Ed & J9 to Florida and then jumped on a plane back to Nassau. He was able to go with us this evening to the park.
We played some hoops (and I lost!), football, face painting & made balloon animals for the kids. We performed a drama and then Pastor Rick shared the gospel with everyone. There were 7 people that raised their hands and said that they accepted Christ as savior! After words Josh Eddy and Ben Adams lead another young man to the Lord in the middle of the basketball court. We had a great evening of sharing and spending time with the Bahamians, and added a total of 8 more people to the kingdom.
More photos here. More blogging as soon as I can.
